This year, the Industrial Robotics Technology program of the School of Intelligent Manufacturing has officially been approved by the Ministry of Education as part of the Sino-German Advanced Vocational Education Cooperation Project (SGAVE). Consequently, the SGAVE class for the 2024 intake of the Industrial Robotics Technology program has been established, marking a new chapter in the internationalization of education at our university. During the summer vacation, the School of Intelligent Manufacturing dispatched three batches of over ten key teachers to participate in the SGAVE Sino-German teacher training program, which encompassed teaching methodologies and textbook development, functional analysis of industrial robot systems, electrical system installation, and the manufacturing and assembly of mechanical systems. The training focused on studying cutting-edge teaching methods such as the Placemat Method and Group Reset Method, and introduced loose-leaf textbooks, aiming to further deepen teaching reforms.
The training adopted a 1:1 teaching approach, where participating teachers took on the role of students to engage in the entire project implementation process. Teachers not only mastered how to use the Placemat Method to help students comprehend complex concepts but also learned to leverage the Group Reset Method to stimulate students' innovative thinking and teamwork abilities. Meanwhile, the flexible application of loose-leaf textbooks enhanced the relevance and practicality of teaching. Furthermore, a multi-dimensional evaluation system combining self-assessment, peer assessment, and teacher assessment provided a solid foundation for improving teaching quality, motivating students' learning drive, and fostering their innovative capabilities.
This training has been highly fruitful for the teachers, who have not only upgraded their professional skills but also infused new vitality into the educational and teaching reforms of the School of Intelligent Manufacturing. It has laid a solid foundation for the smooth launch of the SGAVE class for the 2024 intake of the Industrial Robotics Technology program. The SGAVE project will continue to promote Sino-German cooperation in vocational education, fostering more highly skilled technical and vocational talents to support the high-quality development of China's manufacturing industry.
