City Introduction
Shandong Business Institute is located in the beautiful coastal city of Yantai, Shandong Province, China. Yantai is located in the east of Shandong Peninsula, close to the Yellow Sea and Bohai Sea, across the sea from Japan, South Korea and North Korea. It is a famous tourist resort at home and abroad. Yantai has a warm temperate continental monsoon climate with four distinct seasons, moderate rainfall, humid air and mild climate. The city's annual average precipitation is 722.2mm, the annual average temperature is 13.0 ℃, and the sunshine hours are 2611.6 hours. Yantai is the important node in Bohai economic circle, backbone city of Shandong Peninsula Blue Economic Zone, China's first 14 coastal open cities, China's coastal city, the only international wine city in Asia, and the "one belt and one road" national strategic key port city. It is a national historical and cultural city and a civilized city in the whole country. Yantai is a famous "Hometown of Peking Opera", "Hometown of Shandong Cuisine" and "Hometown of Calligraphy". Haiyang Yangko, Laizhou Languan opera, Jiaodong Dagu and the legend of Eight Immortals crossing the sea were listed in the national intangible cultural heritage list.
Brief Introduction of Shandong Business Institute
Shandong Business Institute, a provincial public full-time college, authorized by the Shandong Provincial Government and registered by the Ministry of Education. It is located in Yantai, a coastal city and an excellent tourism city in China. Shandong Business Institute, formerly known as Yantai Grain School of Shandong Province, was founded in 1975. In 2006, Shandong Business Institute was formally established with the approval of Shandong Provincial People’s Government. In 2013, the school was rated as the "Famous School with Special Characteristics for Skilled Talent Training in Shandong Province". In 2015, the former Shandong Provincial Grain Cadre School was merged into Shandong Business Institute, and established the Jinan campus, marking the school’s entry into a new stage of multi-campus education.
Teaching Facilities and Faculty
Shandong Business Institute has two campuses, Jinan and Yantai, covering an area of 1,418 mu, and a building area of 445,000 square meters. The total investment is up to 1100 million Yuan. It has set 12 academic units, 2 teaching departments and offered 43 majors, including International Economy and Trade, Chain Operation and Management, Marketing Management, E-commerce, Cross-border E-commerce, Modern Logistics Management, Food Quality and Safety, Food Inspection and Testing Technology, Grain Engineering Technology and Management and so on. There are more than 17,000 college students in campus. Currently, there are 765 faculty members and 376 part-time teachers, of the full-time teachers, there are 235 professors and associate professors, 80% hold a doctor's or master's degree, and more than 90% are “dual qualification” teachers.
After more than 40 years’ development, there have been equipped with relatively complete vocational skill training system and practical teaching facilities. There is a modernized library, with 25,000 square meters in size and a collection of 1450,000 books. Shandong Business Institute has set up 2 modernized training bases, namely the Grain and Food Testing Center and Flour Production Training Center, both of which are central financially supported. There are also 14 National Professional Skill Appraisal Stations and 200 high standard professional laboratory and training rooms.
International Exchange and Cooperation
The school speeds up the integration with international education and explores the international school-running mode actively. The school carried out extensive exchanges and interaction with 22 colleges and universities in 12 countries, sets up two Sino-foreign cooperative projects. The school took the lead in the construction of China-Congo Vocational and Technical College (North Mining Campus), jointly built a Chinese Workshop with DRC LAMIKA Co., Ltd., established two overseas education and training centers in Singapore and Japan, and successfully completed the Chinese Bridge Project of “Chinese+Intelligent Programming Journey” in 2021. There are currently 2 professional teaching standards and 11 curriculum standards recognized by overseas universities. In the past five years, more than 200 teachers and students have gone abroad for exchange and further study, and have undertaken the training of overseas employees of "going out" enterprises for 800 person-time.
Program Overview
1.Degree Programs
The school length is 3 years. Students can obtain the graduation certification after completing the teaching contents specified in the teaching plan and passing the defense of the graduation thesis. The learning method is generally: the first year is mainly language learning, supplemented by professional learning, and the second and third years are mainly professional learning, supplemented by language learning.
Before entering the professional study, college students must reach HSK level 4 or above, or study Chinese in the school of international education for one year or more, reach the level equivalent to HSK level 4, pass the school test with a acceptable grade; Applicants with the highest educational background and teaching language in Chinese may be exempted from HSK certification, but must provide proof of teaching language.
2.Non-degree Programs
(1) Preparatory Program
The school length is 12-36 weeks.Those who perform well, pass the examination and have excellent examination results can be recommended to study in relevant majors of Shandong Business Institute. The main courses include Chinese courses, professional Chinese, China's national conditions, cultural experience, etc.
(2) Advanced Student
The school length is 4-26 weeks, the student can apply for an appropriate extension of study according to the situation. Those who study Chinese language or other professional courses according to the regulations and pass the examination can obtain the completion certification of Shandong Business Business. It mainly accepts exchange students selected by foreign friendly schools. The teaching contents include Chinese courses, China's national conditions, cultural experience, professional courses, etc.
（3）Short-term culture Experience Program
The school length varies from 1 week to 4 weeks. You can obtain the study certification of Shandong Business Institute after the completion of the study. The aim of the program is to experience Chinese culture and Chinese custom.
Eligibility
1. Applicants must possess a high school diploma or above.
2. Applicants under the age of 18 must submit relevant supporting documents (Annex 1) at the time of application and entry.
3. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens and possess a valid foreign passport according to the “Nationality Law of the People’s Republic of China”
4. According to the notice of the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China (Document No. 12[2020] of the P.R.C the Ministry of Education), the nationality of international students applying for college students shall comply with the following provisions:
(1) According to the Nationality Law of the People's Republic of China, applicants who have acquired a foreign nationality at birth, both of whose parents are Chinese citizens and have settled abroad or either of whose parents is a Chinese citizen and has settled abroad, should submit a valid foreign passport or nationality certificate for more than 6 years, and actually reside in a foreign country in the last 6 years (up to April 30, 2022) (the actual residence in a foreign country for more than 9 months in a year can be calculated as one year, subject to the entry and exit seals).
(2) Residents of mainland China (mainland), Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan apply to enter Shandong Business Institute as international students after immigration and obtaining foreign nationality. The requirements are the same as above.
5.Applicants must be physically and mentally healthy, meet the physical examination requirements for visa or residence permit in China, meet the physical examination requirements for major in Shandong Business Institute, and ensure normal study and life in Shandong Business Institute.

Incomplete forms or forms without the signature of the attending physician,or the official stamp of the hospital, or a stamped photograph will be deemed invalid. Please ensure your physical examination result remains valid during your application time asits validity is only 6 months.
(9) Applicants under 18 should submit supporting documents of a Guarantor；
(10) Statement of Financial Support to guarantee the reasonable expenses of study, life, and international travel during the students’ study in China and the passport and scanned copies of identity certificates of financial guarantors.
(11) The required materials vary according to different programs and countries.

Application Instruction
1. The application documents must be in Chinese or English.For documents in other Languages,the original documents and the notarized translations in English or Chinese must both be provided.Please use a scanner to color scan the original or notarized application documents.Images captured by mobile phones or cameras, or photocopies will not be accepted.Handwritten documents will not be accepted with the exception of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form or signatures.
2. Incomplete applications will not be processed.
3. Our school and the enrolment department have the right to require applicants to provide the original documents/notarized documents or the certification documents issued by the designated certification authority for further verification.
4. Applicants should ensure that the application information and application documents provided are authentic and correct. Once the admissions or certification department verifies that certain information in the application is incorrect or fraudulent, the application of admission will be canceled.

2. Material Review and Examination
Shandong Business Institute will review the application material, organize entrance examination or assessment according to different majors and select the best applicants for admission.
During this period, the applicant can call the school of International Education (International Exchange Office) of Shandong Business Institute to consult the application progress and relevant notices.
3.Admission
The applicants who have passed the material review and examination evaluation will be admitted and be sent the admission notice by Shandong Business Institute. According to the relevant policies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China and the National Immigration Administration and the length of application and study time, Shandong Business Institute will send the visa application form (JW201 or JW202 form) and other relevant admission materials for foreign students to China.
It takes 4-5 weeks from the completion of admission to the delivery of relevant materials.
4.Material Review
After admission, Shandong Business Institute will review the applicants’ materials. If the applicant is found to have violations, Shandong Business Institute has the right to withdraw the admission decision and cancel the applicant's admission qualification.
5. Report
Admitted students are required to register on time according to the time specified in the admission notice, those who fail to register on time and fail to explain the justifiable reasons shall be treated as automatic withdrawal.
Upon registration, the admission notice (original), the visa application form for international students to China (JW201 or JW202 form)、the original copies of application materials and 6 2-inch white bareheaded certificate photos. If you have has a physical examination in your country, please bring the original of all physical examination materials.
6. Preliminary Examination and Reexamination of Admission Qualification
Shandong Business Institute will conduct the preliminary examination and reexamination of admission qualification when students check in and after admission. If it is found that the admission notice, candidate information and other supporting materials held by students are inconsistent with their actual situation, or there are fraud, favoritism and other situations, they will be determined as unqualified ,the admission qualification of new students or the student status obtained will be canceled.

Shandong Business Institute sets up the international student scholarships. Please refer to the “Administrative Measures for International Student Scholarship of Shandong Business Institute”.
Visa
Admitted students must apply for a student visa at the Chinese Embassy/Consulate in their countries of residence with the Admission Notice and JW201/JW202 Form. International students who will study in China for less than 6 months should apply for the X2 Visa. Students who will study in China for more than 6 months are required to obtain the X1 visa. To stay in China legally, it is mandatory for X1 visa holders to apply for the Residence Permit within 30 days of arrival in China.The application materials and procedures shall be subject to the regulations of the local Chinese embassy (consulate), and the relevant decisions on issuance and refusal made by the Chinese embassy (consulate) shall be the final decision.
